Townsend
Senior Graphic Designer
I'm a creative thinker who enjoys mixing fonts, eye-catching images, and cool graphics to tell engaging stories for brands.
Over the past decade, I've worn quite a few creative hats at BH Management. I've been the graphic designer, the photographer, the web wizard, the communications guru, and even the go-to project manager whenever needed. I'm good at adapting and going with the flow when things shake up. My career has been an adventure, and I've had a blast bringing brands to life.

Cultivate
I was privileged to lend my skills to a local organization that focuses on helping local producers thrive through the support of a growing community of mindful consumers. Once named The Iowa Food Foundation, I have helped them rebrand to CULTIVATE.
The Capital at 400 Locust
I undertook the task of building a property brand from the ground up for The Capital at 400 Locust. The owner’s objective was to establish a modern and trendy aesthetic that also had a lasting appeal.
Brand Redesign
BH Management
I had the thrilling opportunity to leverage my skills and play an integral role in the BH rebranding effort. It was a true honor to craft the new logo and develop the accompanying branding.
I worked diligently to ensure the cohesiveness of the BH brand, employing the logo frame as a prominent graphic element across all materials.

B.HOM -
Student Housing
As B.HOM operates within the umbrella of BH, it was crucial for the two brands to cohesively collaborate. To achieve this unified brand identity, I integrated the BH frame into the B.HOM logo. Also, to ensure a seamless visual identity, I opted for a single, prominent accent color for B.HOM that blends with the established BH color palette.
B.HOM was designed to appeal to a youthful student audience while maintaining the BH brand's core values, with distinct imagery and catchy taglines to establish its unique identity.

Evolve
BH sought to rebrand the "Property Management Conference" with a fresh identity, renaming it to "Evolve." The objective was to create branding that conveyed the concept of evolution and growth. The branding also had to be integrated with the existing BH branding, so it was a fun challenging project.
Personal
Design
I worked with a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to advocating and planning safe transportation choices. I helped create branding and content to help promote their yearly Bike Month events and celebrations.
Des Moines
Street Collective
Beaverdale Neighborhood
I created promotional materials for a local home tour in my neighborhood. The goal was to tease bits of the houses to get people intrigued.
Big Mama
Thornton
I selected Big Mama Thornton for a rebranding assignment, embracing the challenge of reviving an artist with limited existing content and paying homage to the genre and era she represented. It was difficult but fun, merging vintage typography with a vibrant color scheme to pay a playful tribute to her roots.
Denali
University
Designing a college, its departments, and its curriculum while crafting a unified brand for the entire institution was a project I thoroughly enjoyed. It allowed me to shape every aspect and infuse brand elements into each component.

Design
BH
Collaborating with a developer, I designed the BH website, incorporating the new brand's elements across all property pages. The goal was to convey BH as a fun and innovative property management company that takes its role seriously. We aimed to make apartment shopping an "Amazon easy" experience, ensuring the website's pages were intuitively structured for easy navigation.
Photography
Real Estate
In addition to hiring freelance photographers, I also photograph local communities for BH.
Portraits
I also own and manage my photography studio, CAT Prints, with a primary focus on portrait photography. I love preserving moments for my clients, and over the past decade, I've had the privilege of photographing a wide range of subjects, including families, seniors, infants, and more.
Animals
I have a passion for photographing animals, and interestingly, my love for sheep and photography has led to a collection of sheep photographs. I find great satisfaction in earning their trust and capturing them in their natural environment, resulting in raw and authentic shots.
Travels
Beyond my professional commitments, I have a passion for travel, and I ensure my camera accompanies me on all my journeys. I enjoy chronicling my travels. A number of my photographs have been featured in photography exhibitions and have won awards.
